Just a quick check-in...

It's already February!

How is your New Year going so far?

Some of you started with a New Year's resolution or set goals for the year, while others followed the flow. Whatever your journeys, I hope you can focus on small tasks to achieve your dreams.

The start of the New Year can bring a lot of energy for some of you, and some of you's energy quickly wear off. As a generally anxious person, I sometimes find myself overwhelmed with the emotion of the "I need to get the result, or I fail" mentality. Yes, it's that "all or nothing" voice! So, how do we keep ourselves from getting distracted by it?

This emotion, or the "All or Nothing thinking," can be an excellent reminder to redirect our attention when we start feeling this way. We will continue with tangible tasks when we are still waiting to see the results of our efforts.

Some things may need to be done right away, but we cannot make everything go as planned. We may need to surrender ourselves to the notion of "more effort we make, we get the immediate result we want" because so many things in our lives are out of our control.

So, stay focused on things that you and I have control over. Continue with these tasks to build each other on until we reach where we want to be.

You may notice you no longer have the "All or Nothing" feeling. Check if you are allowing your unconstructive emotions to take over your actions. Be kind to yourself by acknowledging your emotions.

Remember, "Rome wasn't built in a day!"
